Report: Charges dropped against Sarah Wondra in the Michael Vaughan case

FRUITLAND, Idaho — Sarah Wondra who was arrested last year in connection with the disappearance of Michael Vaughan in Fruitland, was charged with failure to report a death to the coroner. After a motion to dismiss was filed on April 14th, those charges have now been dropped according to the Argus Observer.
The charges were dismissed on motion of the state, which means the prosecutor who brought the original charges was the one who motioned the court to drop the charges. The charges were dropped "without prejudice" which means they can be refiled and can still move to trial. Sometimes happens when officials are seeking more time to make a case stronger, find more evidence or question other witnesses an attorney told the Argus Observer.
Fruitland Police Chief JD Huff tells CBS2 that this doesn't charge the course of the investigation and that the entire case will be forwarded to the Payette County Prosecutor soon.
CBS2 has reached out to the prosecutors office for comment and will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
